Project Manager – Managing Medical Communication activities

HealthCare Alliance Group, LLC, an innovative, full-service medical communications company, is adding a full-time, in-house Project Manager to their already dynamic project management team. The Project Manager will facilitate and implement cost-effective, timely medical communication and marketing projects for a variety of clients in the pharmaceutical and health advocacy industries.

Candidates must have demonstrated experience managing high-level projects associated with pre-and post-launch products including life-cycle management and strategy, advisory boards, Key Opinion Leader communications and management, exhibit booth design and management, interactive, online and mobile technologies, webcasts, speakers’ bureaus, live meeting series, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of projects including the development of project kick-off meetings, timelines, status reports, day-to-day management, and adherence to project budgets
  • Lead project teams autonomously to ensure successful completion of projects under tight deadlines
  • Collaborate with internal/direct staff to ensure high-quality and on-time delivery of projects
  • Primary daily contact with clients for assigned projects; addressing client questions, and troubleshooting potential issues/concerns
  • Work with vendors and freelance contractors as needed
  • Travel may be required (up to 20% including nights and weekends)
  • Assist in mentoring of other project management team members

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or a related field; and 2+ years of related medical communications agency experience
  • Direct-to-patient marketing communications and branding experience is a plus
  • Must be a demonstrated self-starter, strategic-thinker, problem-solver, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, yet rewarding team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills are necessary
  • Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communications skills are also a must

Medical Editor

HealthCare Alliance Group LLC, an innovative, full-service medical communications company, is adding a full-time, in-house Medical Editor to their already dynamic team. The primary role of the Medical Editor is to copyedit, proofread and fact check content for medical education activities This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining the HCA style guide.

Responsibilities:

  • Copyedit proofread, and fact check a variety of medical education and patient education materials (i.e. registration websites, online activities, PowerPoint slide presentations, transcripts, journal articles, program workbooks, posters, marketing materials, etc.) for adherence to organization and style guidelines and to verify that editor's and author's corrections are incorporated at each stage
  • Ensure consistency among individual pieces of any HCP and patient educational content to support programs
  • Ensure correct grammar, spelling, usage, and adherence to AMA, company, and client styles (when appropriate)
  • Follow guidelines for outside distribution partners and platform hosts for required content and ensure all required content is included in the activity
  • Define and maintain specific style guides, and assure integrity of content and consistency of styles
  • Perform online research as necessary (i.e. verifying terminology citations, Pub Med searches, etc.)
  • Identify time codes for synchronizing content in online audio slide programs, including matching slides to verbal content
  • Perform usability/quality assurance testing on all online programs, including reviewing program from the perspective of the learner and testing all online links for functionality
  • Perform usability/quality assurance testing on slide presentations that include an audience response system (ARS), including confirming that answers display as programmed, and are visible to the participant
  • For journal article publications, ensuring compliance with journal requirements and formatting article accordingly
  • Prepare reference lists for all activities, when needed
  • Identify copyrights and permissions needed for all activities and/or patient education and submit Permissions log to Project Managers
  • Purchase required permissions from journals, as directed by the Project Manager and submit required paperwork to finance department
  • Conduct necessary background research and literature searches
  • Write brief faculty biographies and revise faculty correspondence as needed
  • Write text for activity posts to be placed on social media sites as directed

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or a related field; and s minimum of 5 or more years’ experience in medical copyediting and editing within a medical education company
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of and proficient with AMA style
  • Excellent copyediting and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Strong written & verbal skills
  • Self-starter, problem solver, ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Excel at multi-tasking  
  • Excellent customer service and phone skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint as well as familiarity with MS Excel
